A Day of Encouragement

I got to hold an author copy of Mornings with Jesus 2016 today. So lovely to see the devotions I contributed, nestled among the wonderful insights and inspiration of other authors.

And as if that wasn’t enough blessing, I received a beautiful thank you card from a friend who was blessed by my new book, The Deliverer. In part, she wrote, “I laughed! I cried! I grew closer to the One!” Her words were just what I needed today.

Has God sent a special treat your way lately? Post a comment! I’d love to rejoice with you.

Blessings,
Sharon

  1. I carry a copy of an article that you wrote for Guideposts in 2011 in my Bible regarding an illness you had and how difficult it was for you to write afterwards. It has encouraged me numerous times over the years on my own journey of wellness. I had to relearn how to walk, speak and put words together in order to write anything intelligible even though writing was my life in college. During the process I picked a neighbor’s cat up and was amazed at how wonderful it felt, realizing I’d lost the memories of my many cats over the years. My brain has become rewired and it is like I’ve been given a second life in the same body with my left brain now more dominant than the right. Whenever I have bad days where things seem to be sliding backwards , your article seems to find its way across my path to help me stay the course. I have never read any of your books but your one little article has meant so much to me.

  2. Wow, Louisa…thank you so much for sharing that. It comforts me SO MUCH to know that some bit of encouragement for someone else could come out of my personal struggles with pain and loss. I’m in awe of the way God does that. I’m also glad that you’ve experienced so much healing and improvement, and pray that God will continue to strengthen and reassure you of His love on the tough days. Sometimes our path takes us through the “valley of the shadow” — not what we had expected or planned on. But when we find that our Savior walks with us each step, we can find new courage. BLESSINGS!!!!
